Handcrafted pieces carry more visual information than fine-polished commercial jewellery: hammer marks, oxidised recesses, tiny bells, coin edges. The styling job is not to add more — it is to give that texture room to speak.
These are notes we use in studio shoots and when customers ask what goes with what.
Earrings: scale first, then story
Studs and small drops (Twenty-Five Paise Earring, Challa Earring) work as daily anchors. They read clearly on video calls and under collars without competing with a necklace.
Hoops with texture — the challa silhouette is essentially a traditional bangle translated to the ear — pair with hair worn back or up so the edge pattern catches light.
Ghungroo drops (Ghungroo Earring) move and make sound. Treat them like the statement: simple neckline, minimal other metal near the face. Sound is part of the design — wear them when you want to hear the piece, not in rooms where jingling will distract.
General rule: one audible or heavily textured ear piece at a time.
Rings: build a stack with intentional quiet
- Lead ring: something with etched pattern or coin relief — Adiva Forest Ring or Khanak Sikka Ring
- Supporting bands: smooth or lightly hammered silver; avoid a second full-coverage etch
- Same hand vs. split: a strong lead on the index or middle finger, quieter bands on the other hand, photographs and meetings better than ten equal rings
Mixing metals is fine when the finish family matches: oxidised brass next to hand-oxidised silver looks deliberate; high-polish gold next to matte antique brass can read accidental unless you repeat the gold once elsewhere (earring or chain).
Necklace and choker pairings
Close-fitting pieces — Adiva Tribal Choker, Hansuli Choker — want open collars or plain tees. Leave the ear relatively quiet, or use studs only.
Longer bell neckwear (Ghungroo Kanthi) layers over kurtas and shirts; keep rings simpler when the necklace already cascades.

Traditional placements still work in contemporary wardrobes:
